Provide guidance on maintaining F-1 immigration status while attending EBCTS

Process F-1 immigration benefits
Navigate college policy and understand F-1 visa restrictions
Ensure college and student compliance with immigration policies
Provide educational tools, including workshops and tutorials

F-1 students should speak with their DSO if you are planning to do any of the following:

Change your major, program, or degree level
Change your education level
Transfer to a new school or take a leave of absence
Take a break from school
Travel outside the United States
Move to a new address
Request a program extension

Maintaining your f-1 status

While studying in the United States, it is important to maintain your F or M student status. Your status relates to the purpose, or reason for why you want to come to the United States. The U.S. Department of State issues you your visa based on your intended purpose.
Maintain valid passport (for you and your dependents)
Attend the school whose name appears on the current I-20
Register full-time (do not drop below full-time without advanced authorization by your DSO)
Maintain valid I-20
Obtain an I-20 travel signature from your DSO before you depart the U.S. (for you and your dependents)
Notify ISSD within 10 days of a change of address or telephone number
Do one of the following within 60 days after program completion:
Apply for OPT
Depart the U.S.
Transfer and obtain a new I-20 for a new school/program
Change to another immigration status

Associate of Biblical Exposition

The Associate of Biblical Exposition program requires four semesters to complete. The program focuses exclusively upon exposition of key Bible books by closely examining the English text of the King James Bible. Although focus will be given to what the text says, the program will also focus upon what the text means and what the text means to the modern Christian. All programs within the School of Practical Ministry, including the Associate of Biblical Exposition, are research based and do not include audio/video lectures. The program is ideal for students who have no or limited access to the internet.

Bachelor of Theology (Th.B.)

Prerequisite: An approved associate degree or at least four semesters

The Bachelor of Theology is the final two years of the student’s undergraduate study. Students may receive advanced standing in the program through transfer credits, and in instances where the student is well-qualified, through lifetime credits. The program prepares the student for all EBCTS master’s programs.

The Th.B. program consists of training in a diverse core curriculum that focuses upon developing the student’s general Bible knowledge and upon developing the student’s training in key areas of ministry. The major courses center upon developing the student’s skill in specialized areas of ministry service.

The Bachelor of Theology program is an advance-at-your-own-pace program. Most students will complete the program in less than two years. Students are required to maintain a 2.00 GPA to advance into the EBCTS graduate programs. Upon completion of the Th.B. program, the student is eligible to enroll directly into the EBCTS graduate programs.

Le Bachelor of Theology constitue les deux dernières années des études de premier cycle de l’étudiant. Les étudiants peuvent bénéficier de crédits transférés pour obtenir une avance dans le programme et, dans les cas où l’étudiant est particulièrement qualifié, de crédits à vie. Le programme prépare l’étudiant à tous les programmes de master de l’EBCTS.

Le programme Th.B. comprend une formation dans un programme de base diversifié, axé sur le développement de la connaissance générale de la Bible de l’étudiant et sur le perfectionnement de sa formation dans les domaines clés du ministère.
